Welcome to Our Web site! The Tri-State Amateur Radio Society is a club of Amateur Radio Operators with members from Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois. We are a general interest club and support all aspects of amateur radio. Regular meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the second Thursday of each month at the American Red Cross, 29 S. Stockwell Road, Evansville IN and anyone is invited. TARS operates two 2 meter repeaters and has sponsored a number of other systems including a Packet Network Node and ATV repeater. Our goals are to provide a service to our community and Tri-State area while providing our members with reliable communication systems, interesting radio activities and camaraderie. If you are a Radio Amateur, or just interested in amateur radio, please feel free to attend any of our meetings, we would like to meet you.

FIELD DAY 2008

Field Day was a success. The 4-H center site worked out great and Danny WB9RIM put the buildings next to us to use, ASK HIM HOW.

AUGUST MEETING
Tailgate Party at Mesker Park

MARK YOUR CALENDAR!!
In August there will be no formal club meeting. Join us instead at the TARS picnic which will be held on Saturday August 16th - at Mesker park shelter house #3.
Please bring a large side dish and TARS will provide the Hotdogs and Burgers.
The fun starts about 10:00 am and lunch will be at noon. After lunch we will have a walking Fox Hunt.

Amateur Radio Volunteers Respond
in Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties
As many of you know, early Sunday morning November 6, 2005 a Deadly Tornado swept through the Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties in South-Western Indiana leaving 24 people dead and hundreds injured. Approximately 700 home were damaged with over 300 destroyed. Click HERE for all the information.
